The Olympus Tough TG-2 looks set finally to raise the challenging camera concept to new levels. Whenever we first saw the initial TG-1, filled with its f/2. maximum aperture lens in the largest position setting, we loved in which the concept was going but found your camera ultimately unsuccessful to provide where it mattered.

In the start the challenging TG-2 fixes a number of our qualms using the original hard-as-nails cam. Pocket-lint was available at Minus 5, an ice bar in Vegas, to obtain our frozen palms to grips using what the TG-2 is about.
Design-smart it appears just like its predecessor, with the exception that the trunk mode dial now houses manual shooting modes, such as the important aperture priority mode which didn't have in the original camera. With this wide-aperture lens it is really an absolute essential.
Waterproofing can also be enhanced, using the TG-2 now able to handle depths lower to 15m.?
Gleam new super macro zoom mode, also is incorporated around the mode dial, and it definately is "super" in being able to focus close up. And more. We are speaking pretty much no distance in the lens - it may practically touch a topic but still focus with results magnified between 4x and 14x with respect to the zoom setting.
Manipulating the camera's zoom relies on a single two rear buttons according to its predecessor, not the greater traditional zoom toggle that many compacts use. Even though this is sensible, since it eliminates any clash with sand and so on, its position does not have the most basic being used, but it is functional enough.
If you are following a tough, waterproof, dust/sandproof, and virtually "everything-proof" compact camera then, from what we have seen, the Olympus Tough TG-2 needs to be a powerful contender for the candidate. Now it's time the challenging camera concept was pressed up a peg or two.
